A note of Spring, immediately appealing and a refreshing aperitif, easy to love Sauvignon Blanc. Delicate aromas of orange blossom and pineapple marry beautifully with peach and lemon grass flavors.

Fresh and zesty with aromas of melon, freshly cut grass, green apple, sweet citrus zest and fig. A brisk acidity carries fruit and herbal flavors through a refreshing, balanced finish.

Close your eyes for a moment and imagine being surrounded by sunshine, gentle Pacific winds and the towering oak trees of Paso Robles, California. This is where the grapes for this classic wine are grown, a region named for its local oak trees, El Paso de Robles (“The Pass of the Oaks”).
This area’s rich history of winemaking dates to the Franciscan Friars as far back as 1790. Commercial winemaking took root in the early 20th century, and by 1990, the region’s wines were consistent gold medal winners, topping the rankings of national and international reviews.
This vintage’s vibrant and zesty mouth-feel is balanced by flavors of sweet grapefruit zest, tangerine, stone fruit and lemon, and a hint of fresh herbs. Its long, bright finish, with a touch of citrus and melon, makes it a terrific partner with cheese and chilies, lightly grilled or sautéed fish, chicken or pork. (Read our panel’s notes)

We loved the 2008 and 2009 MacLeod Sauvignon Blanc, so we couldn’t resist an invitation to visit Indian Springs Ranch where we enjoyed an open-air wine tasting under the shade of the ancient oak tree atop a hill in the middle of the MacLeod Family Vineyard. George, family patriarch and famed Sonoma Valley raconteur, described the journey to harvest that created the wine. Aromas of citrus, pineapple and green apple invite the first sip and are met with fresh, clean flavors of crisp green apple, zesty grapefruit and honeyed melon – a signature of a MacLeod Family Sauvignon Blanc.

A quintessential summer wine – aromatic, light and refreshing as a cool breeze on a hot day. A thread of acidity carries flavors of tropical fruit and juicy green apple through a crisp finish. A perfect wine to enjoy while the sun is still out or with the evening meal.
