California Riesling tends to be softer and fuller, with more diverse flavors than a "typical" German Riesling. The family behind Hidden Leaf had owned the land for generations before deciding to turn a passion for wine into vineyards. Our expert panel found this 2011 vintage Riesling to be deliciously crisp with vibrant fruit aromas and subtle spice notes. Layers of apricot, peach and orange blossom intermingle with bursts of aromatic jasmine, making it a nice choice with white fish, pork or spicy Asian cuisine.
A fresh, juicy German Riesling, with clean and complex flavors reminiscent of apricots, peaches and a light citrus note. The fine, tropical minerality characterizes this “terroir” wine, which is crisp and well-balanced on the palate, with a long finish.
Tied Knot Trail wines come from one of our favorite vintners and are produced from grapes grown in one of the first vineyards in the state planted to Riesling in California. The winemaker continues to impress with each new vintage. The 2010 is delicate, soft and approachable while remaining refreshingly crisp. Fruit takes center stage with aromas and flavors of Meyer lemon, pink grapefruit and peach. Enjoy with richly-sauced seafood, poultry or fruited rice dishes.
