Vinum Africa is a winery that loves a challenge. So when they looked at Chenin Blanc, the former “ugly duckling” of Stellenbosch, they knew they could make great wine from the oft neglected grape. Once again, they stepped up and performed beautifully. At one sniff of the one, one can already sense the elegance and vibrancy it possesses; the notes of white petals and crisp citrus are sure to excite. The palate has layers of fresh lime and gentle spices all underscored by fruit. The fruit finishes with a refreshing minerality the lets the wine resonate. The Chenin Blanc is highly versatile and may go best with somewhat exotic cuisine; Thai or Indian perhaps?
