BlackFox Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet is the world’s most well-known red wine. There is a very good reason for this as wines of every caliber made with Cabernet produce wines that bring joy to the masses. We always get excited when we find a wine of incredible value that provides the same incredible flavors. Black Fox Cabernet from California is such a wine. With its’ flavors of raspberry, cherry, with hints of cassis, and cedar, Black Fox dances on your tongue with its vibrant tannins, light mouth feel, and a finish that doesn’t linger too long. New to us, this is sure to be a customer favorite very quickly.
Burke Family Cabernet Sauvignon
From North Coast to Temecula, Cabernet Sauvignon Spans the entire state, being the most recognized grape in California. So it’s safe to say that California winemakers have had sometime since the grape’s colonization from Bordeaux to get it just right. It is even more amazing when you can find a Cabernet that surpasses expectations at such a value. Burke Family Reserve Cabernet is an enjoyable wine from the moment the cork is popped. Made in the classic style, this wine serves up blackberry, currant, fresh herbs, and a hint of cedar with the lush fruit guiding you along the way. This wine goes perfectly with foods with umami flavors like burgers with bacon and Gorgonzola cheese or mom’s homemade meatloaf.
Pearce Cabernet Sauvignon
Pearce Vineyards is a pocket-sized, family owned vineyard operation centered in southern Monterey County. Pearce is best known for its limited-production wines with an emphasis on French and Spanish varietals. Medium-bodied and smooth in texture, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon features notes of black currant, black cherry, and plum.
Fair Oaks Zinfandel
A claret style Zinfandel with full, jammy flavors of blackberry, raspberry, black cherry and wild berry flavors with a hint of black pepper and anise. A nice touch of acidity makes a clean, food friendly finish. Our expert wine panel enjoyed it from appetizers through to dessert and wished they had more.
Monarch Glen Merlot
Merlot is the cornerstone of some amazing Bordeaux wines to date. Without Merlot, some of the most treasured wines in the world may not exist. Merlot in California may not be as popular as its French cousin but we think Merlot in California produces wines of such unique character and flavor that when we find one that also is available at a tremendous value, we have to show it off. Monarch Merlot from California is a wine that flaunts aromas of tangy cherry and sweet berries with flavors of berry, plum, and spices. A tasty wine that finishes clean and dry. So what food to pair with this wonderful wine? Roasted chicken rubbed with Herbs De Provence or grilled rack of lamb with fresh mint.
George Phillips Syrah
Here’s a red wine that can hold its own beside your heartiest dishes. Its upfront fruit aromas of black cherry and plum and notes of tobacco and spice thread deliciously through the fruit flavors to a clean, food friendly finish. California Syrah is well respected for its fruit driven and bold wines that pair well with all sorts of dishes from barbecue to spicy pork loin and everything else in between.

An amazingly versatile choice for serving with grilled duck, turkey, chicken, braised lamb, pork or beef – and a nice partner for dishes featuring a rich tomato sauce.
James and Bell Zinfandel
After two solid days tasting Zinfandels at the annual ZAP festival in San Francisco (the largest gathering of Zinfandel winemakers and enthusiasts in the world), this wine captured our attention immediately – unpretentious, understated and easy drinking. Aromas focus on sweet berry and licorice. Delicate fruit flavors complement the aromas while gentle tannins permit the flavors to shine through a nicely structured texture.
Gejas Red Blend
As the name says, this is a wine big on flavor and bold, with ripe flavors floating over a fine structure of natural fruit acidity. If you haven’t already tried it, there’s no better time than now. The Geja’s Big Bold Red is a feisty, impudent red with prominent, aggressive tannins that are fresh and forward. This is one wine you can enjoy every day of the week at a price that’s hard to beat.
Owen's Crossing Shiraz
California is known for making some big fruit driven wines. From Cabernet to Syrah, winemakers achieve stunning results from the terroir of the golden state. Case in point is Owens Crossing Shiraz from the vintners at Saddlehorn Cellars that bring us a few of the wines we love. So when you think about Shiraz, you don’t think California, you think Australia. But we can tell you that this grape can uniquely flourish in the Northern Hemisphere. The results achieve is a lighter bodied red wine with gorgeous ruby hues and candied fruit flavors. Underneath the ripe red fruit are layers of herbs and a hint of licorice, rounding out a smooth finish and not to lengthy finish. Enjoy this wine as a compliment to a spice rubbed steak.
