From Portugal to Germany, you can find funa nd exciting selecitons and we have hadn picked what we feel best showcases the country and region. Here is what is included in the European Greats 6-Pack:
Cepage Cabernet Sauvignon - Vin De Pays, France
Produced by Bordeaux wine magnate Bernard Magrez, Cépage Cabernet Sauvignon is made from grapes grown using sustainable viticulture in France’s Languedoc wine region. This ruby red Cabernet Sauvignon offers aromas of red and black fruit with notes of spice. It starts off bold on the palate with flavors of licorice and strawberry, followed by a round, jammy finish. Enjoy this wine with pizza or your favorite red meat—especially if it’s grilled.
Tremo Maceracion Carbonica Tempranillo - Rioja, Spain
Carbonic Maceration is a cutting edge winemaking method where a carbon dioxide rich environment is used to ferment juice inside the grape. This results in very fruity wines with very little mouth-drying tannins. While most popular in France, Bodega Luis Alegre is using Carbonic Maceration in Spain on masterfully grown Tempranillo and Viura grapes for a juicy wine with an aromatic nose of raspberry, cherry and slight violet notes. Soft acidity provides just enough balance for fresh fruit notes that meet licorice on the finish.
Les Chartrons Bordeaux Rouge - France
Traditional style and character shine in this charming Bordeaux produced from 70% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Les Chartrons Bordeaux Rouge is a charming and indulgent red that is ideal as an aperitif or for a casual meal. Flaunting a lively cherry red color, the flavors are clean and fruity, with pronounced cherry, spice, and fresh herbs on the palate, a rounded mouthfeel, and supple tannins. Les Chartrons Bordeaux is a Platinum Medal Winner and rated 94 points by the San Diego Winemakers Challenge International Wine Competition.
Val Di Botte Pinot Grigio IGT - Provincia di Pavia, Italy
Just south of Milan close to the Italian Alps and boarding Alto-Adige, probably the definitive source for the world’s best Pinot Grigio, is where Val di Botte sources the amazing grapes that produce this exquisite white wine. This low alcohol balanced acid driven Pinot Grigio flaunts citrus zest, apple, pears, and nectarine flavors mingling with slight almond and ginger notes. The quintessential summertime wine, it is light, refreshing, and perfect for the season. We recommend this wine served ice cold to maximize the crispness.
Le Parlement Bordeaux Blanc - Bordeaux, France
When we found Le Parlement Bordeaux Blanc, we were blown away by this delicate, layered white wine with generous flavors of zesty citrus, fresh grass, gooseberry and honeysuckle. White Bordeaux is not on most people's wine radar, but we love this sophisticated wine that has a Sauvignon Blanc’s appeal, with an added complexity that appeals to true enthusiasts. Do not miss this limited wine, which won the Gold for Best Bordeaux Blend in the 2016 Winemaker Challenge International Wine Competition.
2016 Simue Verdejo - Spain
A young white made of 100% Verdejo grapes from Rueda, Spain, harvested at night and cold macerated to accentuate the wine’s aromas of fennel, hay, and tropical fruit. On the palate, this wine has a buttery feel, refreshing acidity, and a fruity finish. Enjoy it with paella, fish, and cheese.
