2013 Cala De Poeti Morellino di Scansano

Cala de Poeti Morellino di Scansano is the quintessential wine from Maremma, a beautiful area of the Tuscan coast that is known as Italy’s Wild West. This fruity and dry red has a voluptuous texture, with fragrances of fresh cherries and plums. Made from hand-harvested grapes grown in a restricted production area between the rivers Ombrone and Albegna, Cala de Poeti Morellino di Scansano is ruby red, with fruity with notes of cherries, blackberries, and violets. It has a great complexity, with soft tannins that make it the ideal match for grilled red meat, lasagna, and mature cheeses.

2011 Vina Albali Reserva Tempranillo

This 3 year aged Tempranillo hails from Valdepeñas, a sun-baked region in Spain. Many great wines have come from this region with it's extreme climate with temperatures reaching as high as 104 degrees in the summer and cool nights allows the grapes to ripen with structure. The result is very well structured and aged Tempranillos with grace and elegance, but also with a powerful presence. Viña Albali Reserva shows brilliant cherry red hues with long aromas of vanilla, chocolate, spices, and jammy fruits. It is full-bodied, complex, elegant, and has structured tannins and a smooth finish. a true delight to enjoy with a variety of foods including grilled meats and poultry as well as Manchego cheese.
