As the country’s most esteemed wine region, Mendoza commands a certain level of high expectation for quality. The bar is set quite high, similar to wines from Napa here in the United States. Thankfully, the Encantadora easily clears the bar and helps set the standard for what Argentinian Malbecs should be. This particularly enthralling Malbec features fresh fruit flavors of blackberries, cherries and ripe plums. The Malbec is lightly oaked which adds a toasty vanilla undertone to the wine. The tannins are nice and round and help contribute to a lingering finish. A simply enjoyable, easy drinking Malbec.
