Mendoza rests at the foothills of the largest continental mountain range in the world. The Andes Mountain Range peaks average 13,000 feet and provide a majestic backdrop to Mendoza with its’ snow capped peaks and rugged form that tower as high of 22,481 feet. That’s the perfect inspiration for this wine. Cascada Peak is a Cabernet and it’s bold. It has a rustic charm to it that makes it absolutely a delight to drink. From first sip the wine has lots of fruit, a slightly chewy mouth feel (which is a complement) and a dry but not to tannic finish. Dark fruit and earthy undertones round out a wonderful drinking experience. This is a wine that is perfect for a well-marbled steak and a spiced rubbed pork loin. It drinks great by itself but will really shine with a food pairing.
There are several components that make a wine successful. Kepe is one of those rare wines that truly has it all. The first is a cutting edge packaging that is truly extraordinary and immediately grabs you. However, there is so much more to wine that a great label. Thankfully, Kepe fully delivers on the promise of the label. Starting with the results of a search for amazing fruit, Kepe was involved with the process every step of the way. This Tempranillo is full of ripe fruit right from the outset. Raspberry, strawberry, plum and black currant notes can all be found, even on the nose. These flavors continue through the palate to the finish. This wine aims to be something that can be opened every day and pair with our favorite every day foods like pizza, pasta and grilled meats. Of course, the last thing that can make a wine successful, value, which Kepe delivers in spades.
Cambridge and Sunset Pinot Noir
California’s 2012 vintage has been described by winemakers across the state as ideal, having produced generous amounts of high quality fruits. The threat of frost passed early on, allowing vines to bud earlier than usual. A mild, even summer season and dry, cool fall allowed growers to keep their grapes on the vine longer to ripen sugars, while still keeping an above average acidity. These outstanding growing conditions resulted in many wines embodying their terroir, reminiscent of the best Bordeaux years, with the flavor concentration and fruit characteristics that exemplify California. This Pinot Noir has a deep crimson color that catches the light as it swirls in your glass. On the nose, inviting aromas of red cherry, strawberry preserves and dried orange peels. Red fruit flavors burst across the palate with layers of delicate, warm baking spices on the finish.
Pier 52 Chardonnay
This fruit forward Chardonnay offers up aromas of ripe grapefruit and freshly sliced apples. The vines sit along the coast line where the cool winds off the Pacific ocean cool off the vines which allows them to retain crisp acidity and bright flavors as they ripen on the vine. On the palate the flavors are clean and balanced, with elegant notes of soft vanilla, ripe melon, and a hint of honey. This wine will be paired beautifully with baked fish topped with a creamy butter sauce. This is the type of wine that can be enjoyed during any occasion.
Benessere Pinot Grigio
This vintage Benessere Pinot Grigio is a beautiful pale gold. It boasts heady aromas of peach, lime and passion fruit. On the palate, the wine is crisp but with a richness that lingers on the finish. The wine is lively and saturated with flavor - full of tangy, mouthwatering flavors of candied orange and guava. This wine is perfect for sipping without a food accompaniment but also compliments a variety of cheeses, light seafood dishes and foods with a touch of spice like pasta with pesto.
Three Clicks Sauvignon Blanc
This refreshing Sauvignon Blanc has aromas of lime, pear, white flowers, green apple and honeydew melon greet at the glass, and lead to a crisp clean acidity with refreshing cucumber, kiwi, apple, floral and some exotic fruit flavors. The wine finishes with a refreshing minerality and flavors of citrus and cantaloupe. Natural acidity brings the full texture of the wine into perfect balance. Delicious as an aperitif, but its complexity and verve make it a great match with seafood, from shrimp and scallops to oily smoked fish like salmon and mackerel. The wine will stand up brilliantly to fish stews, such as a savory bouillabaisse, and even pork or rotisserie chicken
