France is no doubt the world’s foremost winemaking region in regal varietals and collectable wines from notable appellations. For most of the wine loving community, being able to drink great French wine on a daily basis is beyond our grasp. For those not in the know, French table wine otherwise also known as Vin Rouge can be captivating and delightful to drink. You get the character of French terroir for a fraction of the price. When we discovered Maison Gourmand, our smiles were wide with joy. Soft flavors of black cherry and raspberry coat the palate with a note of leather and a savory bitterness that mingle together brilliantly.
Fair Oaks Zinfandel (x2)
A claret style Zinfandel with full, jammy flavors of blackberry, raspberry, black cherry and wild berry flavors with a hint of black pepper and anise. A nice touch of acidity makes a clean, food friendly finish. Our expert wine panel enjoyed it from appetizers through to dessert and wished they had more.
Geja's Private Reserve Big Bold Red (x2)
As the name says, this is a wine big on flavor and bold, with ripe flavors floating over a fine structure of natural fruit acidity. If you haven’t already tried it, there’s no better time than now. The Geja’s Big Bold Red is a feisty, impudent red with prominent, aggressive tannins that are fresh and forward. This is one wine you can enjoy every day of the week at a price that’s hard to beat.
Val di Botte Nero D' Avola (x2)
Nestled off the coast of Southern Italy, the terroir of the island of Sicily produces wines so unique, it is nearly impossible to duplicate their charismatic style. The prominent grape of Sicily, Nero d’Avola, also known as the “Black Grape of Avola” crafts wines that are bold in nature, with sweet fruit flavors, subtly sweet smoky notes, and nuances of spice that actually become sweeter with decanting. When sipping on Val di Botte Nero d’Avola, you’ll notice a strong presence of blackberry and plum, with hints of licorice and chile pepper. Try pairing this wine with unique dishes like oxtail stews and other gamy meats and anything with applewood-smoked bacon.
Val Di Botte Chianti D.O.C.G. (x2)
Chianti is a wine region inside Tuscany in Central Italy. If you don’t know it by name, you might know it by its reputation. I’m not talking about the wine you get in neighborhood Italian restaurants with the woven baskets caressing the bottles. I’m talking about Chianti in all its glory, the Chianti region that makes wines that rival the best in the world. Val Di Botte Chianti is 85% Sangiovese and a blend of Canaiolo Nero and Cabernet Sauvignon. The results of this blend are intense, but refined, with flavors of wild berries and spicy notes intertwining. This fruity, spicy, slightly smoky, and generally pleasant red wine is a delight to have at the dinner table. It's versatile with food, getting along with everything from cheese and charcuterie, hearty pastas, pizza, and meat and fish dishes in the Tuscan style.
Black Fox Cabernet Sauvignon (x2)
With its flavors of raspberry, cherry, with hints of cassis, and cedar, Black Fox dances on your tongue with its vibrant tannins, light mouth feel, and a finish that doesn’t linger too long.
Abbazia Cuvee Prestige Collio
Walking the vineyards of Collio in the Lombardy region in Northern Italy is an experience like no other. Strolling down the rows upon rows of vines giving life to Glera, a very special Italian varietal when proper crafted with care, produces a unique sparkling wine. For those looking for a little more out of Prosecco, look no further. Our Cuvee Prestige bottling from Abbazia is produced in the charmat method, ensuring a complex palate of flavors and tiny concentrated bubbles that give the wine its refreshing attributes. It is fruity and pleasant, with flavors of golden apples and spring flowers coming together in a harmonious balance, on top of a dry finish.
