From southeastern Australia’s Riverina region comes 2015 Boondaree Shiraz. This full-bodied red is a dense crimson in the glass, catching the eye with youthful purple hues. The bouquet offers aromas of ripe cherry and plum entwined with earthy hints of dark chocolate and spicy oak. The dark chocolate continues to the palate, where it is joined by spicy berry fruit and a subtle tannin finish. 2015 Boondaree Shiraz is terrific with foods with big, bold flavors. Marcel Malbec I.G.P. Comté Tolosan
Marcel Malbec is a robust and rich red from the French countryside east of Bordeaux. Château du Cèdre farms with no herbicides or chemicals, and these grapes yield savory but slightly tart flavors of plums, blackberry, and smoked meats. Possessing firm tannins, Marcel Malbec is structured and concentrated, yielding a deep, complex wine.
Cala de Poeti Morellino d'Scansano
2013 Cala de Poeti Morellino di Scansano is the quintessential wine from Maremma, a beautiful area of the Tuscan coast that is known as Italy’s Wild West. This fruity and dry red has a voluptuous texture, with fragrances of fresh cherries and plums. Made from hand-harvested grapes grown in a restricted production area between the rivers Ombrone and Albegna, Cala de Poeti Morellino di Scansano is ruby red, with fruity with notes of cherries, blackberries, and violets. It has a great complexity, with soft tannins that make it the ideal match for grilled red meat, lasagna, and mature cheeses.
