Exploring the wines of Chile is certainly a great adventure, especially because they are becoming so renowned in the wine world. Chile’s Central Valley (Valle Central in Spanish) is the hot bed of the country’s burgeoning wine industry. The Kiyapura Cabernet-Carmenere is composed of grapes from two of the region’s vineyards. One is right near the gorgeous Maipo River and the other is in the cooler Maule region. The combination of the two vineyards results in a stunningly balanced wine. A bright ruby red, this wine has charming aromas of ripe red fruit and spices like black pepper with maybe even a hint of vanilla. Full-bodied with elegant tannins, there is no mistaking that this is a juicy red. Chocolate and red berries define the palate with a subtle of coffee in the finish. Brilliant.
Val di Botte Toscana Rosso
On the western edge of Central Italy sits Tuscany, wine region drowning in wine making history. With its rolling hills, towering Italian Cypress Trees and reputation for world renowned wine, we look forward to trying as many wines as possible from this area. Why? Honestly, these wines have bright fruit flavors, medium body weights and a pleasant finish that goes with so many foods and can be enjoyed in almost any circumstance. Val Di Botte Toscana Rosso has up front flavors of raspberry and strawberry with hints of roasted pepper and fresh herbs like thyme. The finish is light to medium and high but smooth tannin structure. We recommend you open and let it breathe before consuming. Enjoy with margherita pizza with fennel sausage or a pasta dish like Spaghetti Bolognese.
Sierra Trails Old Vine Zinfandel
Coming to us from some of the oldest Zinfandel plantings in California, the Sierra Trails Old Vine Zinfandel is a complex wine offering aromas of ripe berry, dried plum and red currants. These remarkable fragrances are echoed in the flavoring where a hint tobacco, black pepper spice and sweet oak lifts the fruit and carry them through a lingering finish.
Longchase Vintners Cabernet Sauvignon
This 2013 Vintage Cabernet is a light red with flavors of cherry, raspberry and cinnamon, and a medium finish. Enjoy this versatile wine on any occasion, whether you’re ordering in from your neighborhood pizza joint or grilling with lots of friends.
Cuvée Joëlle Malbec et Merlot
Among the many noteworthy French grapes, two have become especially treasured for their stunning wines. Malbec has a dark, rustic nature, while Merlot features a soft, fruit forward, and herbaceous character. When blended, they craft a unique flavor. Cuvèe Joëlle fuses red plum, raspberry, blackberry, vanilla, and fresh herbs. This exciting red blend is meant to be paired with fun dishes like bacon-wrapped blue cheese stuffed dates, pungent cheeses, and bacon blue cheese burgers.
Monarch Glen Merlot
Monarch Glen Merlot is a tasty red wine that flaunts aromas of tangy cherry and sweet berries, leading into a clean, dry finish. Looking for a food to pair with this wonderful wine? Try herb-roasted chicken, or grilled rack of lamb with fresh mint.
