Cachil Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
Colchagua Valley, Chile is home to many amazing wineries producing gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon, just like Cachil. This reserve offering from one of the premier Cabernet Sauvignon producing regions of Valle Central boasts beautiful flavors from this stunning vintage. Currants, Raspberry, and cassis take lead followed by hints of cocoa. Enjoyably lighter in body than most cabs from this region, it has a medium body and a smooth silky finish. Chile is known for being innovative with wine over the last decade and this is a great example of why wines in from this region are a perfect fit for most occasions. It’s no wonder why Colchagua Valley was named Wine Region of the Year in 2005 by Wine Enthusiast Magazine.
Vista de Noche Malbec, Mendoza
Why it is that Malbec from Argentina is so popular? Clues point to the fact that Argentina’s climate, soil, and dedication to making the best wine for the dollar make this is an easy thing to solve. Our latest discovery, Vista De Noche and its delicious fruit hail from Mendoza, the beating heart of Malbec for Argentina. It drinks profoundly with dark fruits such as blackberry with herbaceous notes, and that nice overlay of smoky, destined to be best friends with many grilled meats. It’s full bodied, has a personality, and has a finish that can please the wine drinker in all of us.
Granite Ridge Reserve Pinot Noir
South Africa has been pioneering Pinot Noir expansion into regions lesser known for this coveted grape. With one of the smallest plantings nationally on record, these wines are rare and are beginning to be sought out by wine enthusiasts to sip and savor. When we searched for the rare and unique, this was one of the highlights. Showing the leaner style of Pinot, Granite Ridge Pinot Noir has beautiful cherry and cranberry like flavors, hints of herbaceous notes, with an elegant, low acid mouth feel and a delight finish. You can pair this red wine with a variety of foods like white pizza with fresh herbs, grilled fish, and spiced poultry, just to name a few.
Anta da Serra Red Table Wine
A blend of native grapes to the country of Portugal, Anta De Serra is for red wine lovers who love lush bold fruit with a full mouth feel while retaining the characteristics of the terrior. What you get is deep colored wine with full robust flavors of blackberry, raspberry, and cherry, paired perfectly with firm tannins and a soft but full mouth feel. More and more, we are finding that Portuguese wines are becoming a hit of the party as they evolve into producing wines of world-wide fan fare. More recently in fact, Wine Spectator's number one wine of 2014 was in fact, from Portugal.
Radford Dale Shiraz
There is absolutely no doubt that Alex Dale’s premium label Radford Dale is the best range of wines in South Africa. And the amazing thing about Alex is that no matter the price, Alex wants to be sure that every bottle of wine you open is a value. This is equally true with the premium Radford Dale wines as with his more inexpensive offerings. With a single sip, you’ll see that with his Radford Dale Shiraz accomplishes this noble goal very well. Coming from the beautiful Stellenbosch region (South Africa’s equivalent of Napa Valley), the fruit for this wine is expertly cultivated and handpicked by the expert team at the Winery of Good Hope. Their hard work, as usual, pays off. With this Shiraz, they aim to combine Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere to make a Shiraz that is truly the best of both worlds. It has the classic spicy and peppery Shiraz notes and firm, ripe tannins, fresh acidity and persistent minerality. This Shiraz has power, backbone and fruit with just enough restraint. Another magnificent wine from Radford Dale.
Sierra Trails Old Vine Zinfandel
Coming to us from some of the oldest Zinfandel plantings in California, the Sierra Trails Old Vine Zinfandel is a complex wine offering aromas of ripe berry, dried plum and red currants. These remarkable fragrances are echoed in the flavoring where a hint tobacco, black pepper spice and sweet oak lifts the fruit and carry them through a lingering finish.
