Porta De Ravessa Red Blend
The Porta Da Ravessa Tinto (red) is a blend of Trincadeira, Aragones, Alicante-Bouschet, and Casteleo that delivers an earthy, spicy, and rich yet well-rounded wine with a velvety texture. Trincadeira, also called Tinta Amarela, provides deep color, dark berry flavors, and firm tannins. Aragones, which most know well as Tempranillo, enhances the berry/cherry flavors and the soft texture. Castelao, known by some as Periquita, brings a youthful fresh fruitiness. And Alicante-Bouschet offers its trademark deep purple color and some additional softness. Perfect with braised lamb (or goat) shanks, or broiled garlic steak.
Lion's Crest Vintners Syrah
Here’s a deliciously robust California wine ready to share the stage with a juicy steak or slowly cooked, savory stew. It offers notes of dried black cherry, blueberry, ripe plum, tobacco and exotic spice supported through a lengthy finish by fine tannins and refreshing acidity, and a rich thread of vanilla. The maritime influences of the Pacific Ocean moderate temperatures throughout a lengthy growing season allowing wines to develop full flavors and great acid balance.
Full of ripe fruit right from the outset. Raspberry, strawberry, plum and black currant notes can all be found, even on the nose. These flavors continue through the palate to the finish. This wine aims to be one that can be opened anytime and pair with your favorite everyday foods like pizza, pasta, and grilled meats.
El Portal Red Blend
Concentrated blackberry and cherry aromas are joined by notes of black currant, plum, spice and violet. Fruit forward flavors are accented with a touch of sweet tobacco and spice. A smooth texture and ripe tannins make this wine very food friendly.
A dedication to quality from the vineyard to the bottle is reflected in this “growers lot” wine from the central California winemakers of Kalder. Served with your favorite roasts or slow-simmered meat dishes, this bold, rich treat will add a special touch to everyday dining or your most important occasions. Deep purple in color, its aromas and flavors of ripe plum and wild berry are carried by soft tannins through a clean, flavorful finish.
Cachil Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon
Colchagua Valley, Chile is home to many amazing wineries producing gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon, just like Cachil. This reserve offering from one of the premier Cabernet Sauvignon producing regions of Valle Central boasts beautiful flavors from this stunning vintage. Currants, Raspberry, and cassis take lead followed by hints of cocoa. Enjoyably lighter in body than most cabs from this region, it has a medium body and a smooth silky finish. Chile is known for being innovative with wine over the last decade and this is a great example of why wines in from this region are a perfect fit for most occasions. It’s no wonder why Colchagua Valley was named Wine Region of the Year in 2005 by Wine Enthusiast Magazine.
Albarrada is a new and exclusive winery that makes amazing wine that showcases local grapes. This red wine (or vinho tinto, in Portuguese) features a local grape, called Castelão. Native to the soils of Portugal, Castelão. It is unusual, finding a better home in the drier and harsher climate of Portugal than the normally more grape friendly soils of temperate climates. When well cared for, the wine that results is aromatic and fruit-forward with notes of red berries and slight hints of floral notes.
A rich, full-bodied red wine with nearly as much character as its namesake and inspiration, Sam Brannan, California’s first millionaire and 1800’s bon vivant. The Napa Valley, especially Calistoga, owes a debt of gratitude to Brannan, who was a pioneer, dreamer and dauntless scoundrel. While his business practices and ethics were frequently questioned by his 19th century contemporaries, Brannan's ambition and colorful legacy enriched the valley and its history. The 2012 vintage Zinfandel is a muscular, yet restrained Zinfandel displaying the essence of blackberry bramble and raspberry jam balanced by a thread of licorice, leather, cedar and exotic spice.
