Cachil Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva
Colchagua Valley, Chile is home to many amazing wineries producing gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon, just like Cachil. This reserve offering from one of the premier Cabernet Sauvignon producing regions of Valle Central boasts beautiful flavors from this stunning vintage. Currants, raspberry, and cassis take the lead, followed by hints of cocoa. Enjoyably lighter in body than most cabs from this region, it has a medium body and a smooth silky finish. Chile is known for being innovative with wine over the last decade and this is a great example of why wines in from this region are a perfect fit for most occasions. It’s no wonder why Colchagua Valley was named Wine Region of the Year in 2005 by Wine Enthusiast Magazine.
Abbazia Barbera d' Asti D.O.C.G. ***
The lands of Asti are located between Milan and Genoa in the Italian Northwest. A leisurely drive between the two takes you through lands lined with vineyards, rolling hills, and some of the world’s best wines and cuisine. It is here where they make the Asti wines of Dolcetto, Moscato, Brachetto, and most importantly, Barbera. Known all over the world, the Barbera made here is second to none. An elegant wine that is full and dry, its tannins hold a firm grip, bringing along full ripe red berry flavors. Although Barbera can be aged, it has a tenacious youthful nature that we love and enjoy at the young stages of its bottle life.
Big Cirrus Single Vineyard Cabernet Carménè ***
Picked from a single estate vineyard in the heart of Chile’s winemaking countryside, Big Cirrus has produced a beautiful wine to represent all of Chile’s winemaking progress over the last decade. Every year, vintages get more and more impressive, and this 2013 vintage of Cabernet Carmènére blend is no exception. Charming aromas of ripe raspberries and currants are representative of its ruby red hues in the glass. Further enjoyment reveals small amounts of herbs and subtle spices like white pepper and a thin layer of vanilla. Pleasing and highly enjoyable, this is an exciting new addition to our library of incredible Chilean wines.
Geja's Private Reserve Big Bold Red
As the name says, this is a wine big on flavor and bold, with ripe flavors floating over a fine structure of natural fruit acidity. If you haven’t already tried it, there’s no better time than now. The Geja’s Big Bold Red is a feisty, impudent red with prominent, aggressive tannins that are fresh and forward. This is one wine you can enjoy every day of the week at a price that’s hard to beat.
Rivers End Cabernet Sauvignon ***
Monterey’s Salinas Valley, the home of this delicious Cabernet Sauvignon, receives intense sunshine throughout the day. At night, cool air funnels in from the Pacific Ocean, giving the vines optimal balance to fully ripen. With all these gifts from Mother Nature, the end result is a Cabernet expressive in flavor. The careful process of crafting this wine by hand has led to flavors of black currant, cherry, red bell pepper, and baking spices. All in all, River’s End Cabernet Sauvignon is a youthful wine that drinks full and is satisfying all around.
Vista De Noche Malbec ***
Drinks profoundly, with dark fruits such as blackberry with herbaceous notes, and that a nice smoky overlay, destined to be best friends with many grilled meats. It’s full bodied, has a personality, and has a finish that can please the wine drinker in all of us.
Villa Amoroso Chianti DOCG ***
Villa Amoroso reminds us that the days of basket-woven bottles of table Chianti are in the very distant past. Whatever your previous experience with Chianti you’ll find tons of joy in and lots of love for this blend of 85% Sangiovese and 15% regional varietals. Its pleasurable balance of tart, spicy, and herbaceous qualities makes this the wine for the food lover in us all. Chianti offers flavors of red fruits, bitter herbs, and notes of smoke, clay, and vegetables like peppers and tomato. Enjoying with tomato-based Italian dishes and dried meats creates the ultimate Dynamic Duo of the culinary crafts. Don’t believe us? Pick up a bottle and see for yourself why Chianti is the most consumed, talked, and written about wine from Italy.
Fincalegre Cava Brut ***
Cavas are absolutely sensational and truly an amazing value for sparkling wine. The Fincalegre Cava was produced by Bodegas Luis Alegre with the goal of providing a luxurious bubbly at an approachable price. The Cava Brut is the flagship wine of this effort. Made with the local Spanish grapes of Macabeo (40%), Xarel-lo (40%) and Chardonnay (20%), the gapes for this wine are picked by hand to ensure the highest quality. The winemakers of Bodegas Luis Alegre are perfectionists and they control the winemaking process from vine to glass. This control enables them to ensure that everything is as they like it. This includes the natural aromas of the varietals (green apple and citrus) to be present on the nose. The technique used in making this wine enables the complex flavors of a great sparkling wine to be added to the fresh fruit flavors. Perfect as an aperitif, it can also pair with food like sushi or spicy Mexican and Asian dishes. Stunning sparkler and an affordable price.
Bear Hug Winemaker Select Chardonnay ***
Chardonnay is the world’s most versatile white grape with regards to the different characteristics it can display in the wine. It is highly dependent on two things—the growing region, and when it is picked. After that, the winemaker can choose different processes to shape the profile even more. The eventual end result is found in the bottle, making it difficult to hit the bullseye on the Chardonnay that best fits you. Within lots there are special groupings that winemakers covet more than others. These lots are isolated and bottled separately, also known as Winemaker Select. With this in mind, we offer our sister label of our ever-popular California Cabernet, Bear Hug Winemaker Select California Chardonnay. From the first sip, you will find flavors of green apple, nectarine, honeysuckle, and melon, all in a perfect harmonious balance.
Le Parlement Bordeaux Blanc ***
White Bordeaux is not on most people's wine radar, but we get excited for white Bordeaux. For us, it has everything we love about Sauvignon Blanc, while adding complexity that true enthusiasts can appreciate. When we found Le Parlement Bordeaux Blanc, we were blown away by the balance. It is delicate, with levels of finesse layered into its pale straw color. Attractive flavors of zesty citrus, fresh grass, gooseberry, and honeysuckle yield generously after every sip. This is a limited wine that must not be missed.
Cachil Sauvignon Blanc Reserva ***
Produced in what is to be considered the most prestigious region in Chile, Colchagua Valley was 2005 wine region of the year by Wine enthusiast magazine, and for great reason. It's climate and soil, combined with modern technologies mixed with traditional methods, produces wines of superior quality. This Sauvignon blanc, with bright with layers of citrus fruit, freshly cut grass and vibrant acidity, makes for a wonderful drinking experience for any white wine lover.
Val Di Botte Pinot Grigio I.G.T.
Just south of Milan close to the Italian Alps and boarding Alto-Adige, probably the definitive source for the world’s best Pinot Grigio, is where Val di Botte sources the amazing grapes that produce this exquisite white wine. This low alcohol balanced acid driven Pinot Grigio flaunts citrus zest, apple, pears, and nectarine flavors mingling with slight almond and ginger notes. The quintessential summertime wine, it is light, refreshing, and perfect for the season. We recommend this wine served ice cold to maximize the crispness.
This wine is fresh, with flavors of green apple, nectarine, and juicy melon. Only a small touch of oak, this wine remains crisp and refreshing with a perfect amount of linger in the finish. Purely delicious Chardonnay, a gem of a find from California.
Trail Mix Napa Valley White Blend
One of the two main roads in Napa Valley, the Silverado Trail winds through some of Napa’s greatest vineyards. Trail Mix Napa Valley White Wine is a unique blend with 100% grapes from Napa and the majority of them from Yountville and St. Helena.
