The region known for ideal climate promotes slow, even maturing and great flavor development. A wonderful wine from the River’s End winemakers with ripe berry fruit flavors and aromas with a nice touch of oak. An amazingly versatile choice for serving with grilled duck, turkey, chicken, braised lamb, pork or beef – and a nice partner for dishes featuring a rich tomato sauce.
Black Fox Cabernet Sauvigon
Cabernet is the world’s most well-known red wine. There is a very good reason for this as wines of every caliber made with Cabernet produce wines that bring joy to the masses. We always get excited when we find a wine of incredible value that provides the same incredible flavors. Black Fox Cabernet from California is such a wine. With its’ flavors of raspberry, cherry, with hints of cassis, and cedar, Black Fox dances on your tongue with its vibrant tannins, light mouth feel, and a finish that doesn’t linger too long. New to us, this is sure to be a customer favorite very quickly.
Fair Oaks Zinfandel
A claret style Zinfandel with full, jammy flavors of blackberry, raspberry, black cherry and wild berry flavors with a hint of black pepper and anise. A nice touch of acidity makes a clean, food friendly finish. Our expert wine panel enjoyed it from appetizers through to dessert and wished they had more.
Sierra Trails Old Vine Zinfandel
Coming to us from some of the oldest Zinfandel plantings in California, the Sierra Trails Old Vine Zinfandel is a complex wine offering aromas of ripe berry, dried plum and red currants. These remarkable fragrances are echoed in the flavoring where a hint tobacco, black pepper spice and sweet oak lifts the fruit and carry them through a lingering finish.
LongChase Cabernet Sauvignon
California is known for producing world renowned Cabernet. So much so, it should be the state drink of California. No matter if it is ten dollars or a hundred dollars, California climate produces exceptional cab on every level. That’s why when we find a cab on the value side that tastes amazing, we get pretty excited. Longchase is just that wine. A 2013 Vintage Cabernet, this wine has flavors of cherry, raspberry and cinnamon with a medium finish and a light mouth feel. This is a wine that can be enjoyed every day no matter what you are doing, ordering pizza from your favorite neighborhood joint or grilling with lots of friends.
Leaping Horse Merlot
Who says Merlot isn't enjoyable? We think quite the contrary. When this iconic grape is crafted correctly it produces very delicious results. Now this textbook Merlot comes with a twist as 5% Cabernet Sauvignon is blended in, to round out the wine and provide very enjoyable soft tannins and smooth finish. Luscious fruit of plum and black cherry, with a pinch of fresh herbs round out the flavor profile. Because of its soft tannins and luscious fruit, Merlot is a delicious wine that’s food-friendly or can be savored by itself. It works with many types of meat or fowl, such as roast turkey or chicken, grilled blackened salmon, pasta with meat sauces, pork, grilled vegetables or a steak salad.
