Center Cut Merlot
2004 marked a decline in Merlot sales so impactful, some vineyards in California had to stop remove the vines and plant something new in its place. The reason, it's easy to speculate but a lot of industry people believe in the power of pop culture to drive sales and when the character in the movie "Sideways" said he wasn't drinking anymore Merlot, well lets just say people listened. What people don't realize that Merlot is an amazing grape that is the staple in some of the world's finest wines, if Bordeaux has taught us a thing or two. California Merlot is back on the rise and we found a new one from Central California that is a cut above the rest. An incredibly versatile wine, Center Cut Merlot offers up rich aromas of dried fig, black currant, and cinnamon. Flavors of anise, licorice, and blackberry jam dominate the palate with notes of clove and caraway
Alta Max Cabernet Sauvignon
Alta is the Portuguese word for High and the name is fitting. This wine is crafted from grapes that grow high in elevation in high-altitude vineyards in western Mendoza, the heart of Argentine winemaking. Balance, deep intense red, with round and persistent tannins that leaves you wanting more. In the mouth one can perceive green peppers, spices and ripe red fruits. Ideal to accompany red or game meats like deer, rabbit and boar.
Sierra Trails Old Vine Zinfandel
Coming to us from some of the oldest Zinfandel plantings in California, the Sierra Trails Old Vine Zinfandel is a complex wine offering aromas of ripe berry, dried plum and red currants. These remarkable fragrances are echoed in the flavoring where a hint tobacco, black pepper spice and sweet oak lifts the fruit and carry them through a lingering finish.
