Uncork vibrant refreshment with 2021 Vinum Africa Sauvignon Blanc from the Western Cape region in South Africa. This white wine is made from carefully nurtured grapes that are hand sorted, de-stemmed and crushed as gently as possible. The grapes then undergo six hours of skin contact to further enhance the fruit flavors and preserve the color resulting in a longer finish on the palate once the wine is finished. This Sauvignon Blanc shows prominent aromas of tropical fruit, hints of citrus and green apple. The fresh and lively palate is well balanced with a linear acidity and a fruity finish. Crafted by The Winery of Good Hope, Vinum Africa is a line of premium yet highly approachable wines that reflect the region’s spirit of optimism. The winery is named for The Cape of Good Hope, a rocky area on the Atlantic coast that saw wine grapes among the first crops grown when it was settled in the 1650s. Founder and winemaker Alex Dale is passionate about making “quality wine with a conscience,” and The Winery of Good Hope uses traditional and natural viticultural and winemaking methods to create delicious wines for everyday drinking. The Stellenbosch-based winery is also dedicated to environmental, ethical, and social-upliftment practices. Best served chilled 2021 Vinum Africa Sauvignon Blanc is lovely companion to white meats including Chicken, Pork Chops, and Turkey. Also explore with softer more briny and sour cheeses like goat's milk cheese. Sniff Sip Repeat Alex Dale and South African wine are featured in Episode 3 - South African Sips of our podcast Sniff Sip Repeat.
